Michelle Taylor came to our school on Wednesday 25 August. She writes all kinds of different poems. She gave us some great hints about how to write great poems. Michelle Taylor told us that she gets great ideas from her children, schools she visits and from the world around her. She writes all her ideas in a journal. She said that she has about 20-30 journals. She told us two important things about poems, they were short and you needed good describing words.
She wrote here favourite words on rocks and kept them in a collection and wrote titles on pieces of paper to help with her writer's block.
